Gestalt Therapy

Gestalt therapy is an existential form of psychotherapy based on the idea that human beings are a whole. The focus is on the NOW, how human beings are and not how they should be. By using experiments, new experiences are gained in the here and now. This provides a lot of information about what is going on, what someone needs and what strength can be used for recovery or change. By reconnecting with parts of yourself that you might have forgotten, find too painful or perhaps do not appreciate, you feel more 'whole' again. This has a positive influence on your mood, how you face challenges and increases your ability to relate well to others. As a result, you are better able to meet your needs (practical help, comfort, friendship, etc.) with the help of your environment, allowing you to grow. Growing is a relational process. You need others to grow. Very often, involving significant others in therapy also proves to be of great value to most clients.

I offer Gestalt therapy for people who suffer from, for example, the following complaints/problems:

  • Burnout

  • Suppressing feelings

  • Fears

  • Dealing with emotions

  • Unprocessed events

  • Trauma

  • Depression

  • Insecurity

  • Performance anxiety

  • Unexplained complaints for which there is no medical cause.

  • For people who want to understand themselves better.

  • For people who want to develop personally and/or professionally.

  • For people who want to connect better with others.
